Phrase match and broad match modifier began matching same-meaning close variants

Almost a year after exact match, phrase match and broad match modifier keywords started matching queries that share the keyword's meaning rather than only misspellings and plurals. Google projected 3-4% more clicks and conversions, most of it new traffic, and added a rule preventing a query from switching to a different keyword when an eligible exact or phrase match already existed.
