Google rewrote 'Check the review status of an ad or asset' to spell out review timelines by campaign type. Most reviews still finish within one business day, but standard reviews for Demand Gen and Discovery campaigns are now documented as taking 3-5 business days, and some complex formats up to 7 business days.
- The page tells advertisers to wait rather than edit while an ad is 'Under review', because edits to budgets, bid strategies or ad text restart the review clock.
- If the status has not changed after 7 full business days, Google suggests a minor one-time edit to re-trigger the review queue.
- The page also lists asset-level disapproval checks (punctuation, spacing, image quality) that will trigger a fresh review once fixed.
- Google's help pages are undated; PPC News Feed reported the rewrite on 2026-09-16, credited to Hana Kobzová.
