Search Console launched Generative AI performance reports for Search and Discover

New reports show impressions from generative AI features (AI Overviews and AI Mode in Search, and generative AI features in Discover) by page, country, device (Search only) and date at hourly to monthly granularity; no clicks or queries are reported.

Initially rolled out to a subset of sites (UK first, tied to a CMA conduct requirement), expanding to India and other regions from late June, to many more properties by August 11, and to all websites worldwide on August 31, 2026. Generative AI data remains included in the main Performance report totals. John Mueller clarified an impression requires a link to the site to be shown in the AI feature.
