Starting July 2025 Google began automatically converting existing Video Action Campaigns into Demand Gen campaigns, after removing the option to create new VACs in April 2025. Advertisers running YouTube conversion campaigns are moved to Demand Gen's multi-format inventory. Source

The ability to link one Ad to multiple ad groups was removed from all supported API versions with the v23 release on January 28, 2026; shared ads stop serving in Q2 2026 and Google automatically creates individual copies.
