OpenAI began rolling out ChatGPT Ads across seven more Asian markets, taking availability past 60 countries. Unlike the managed-only India launch in August, businesses in all seven markets get self-serve buying through Ads Manager straight away.
- Markets added: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan.
- More than 60 countries now have ChatGPT Ads. This follows the Asia Pacific launches in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and India.
- Self-serve access through Ads Manager is available immediately for eligible businesses, a change from India's August rollout, which started managed-service only.
- Other routes in: the OpenAI Ads Solutions team, agency partners (dentsu, Havas Media, Omnicom Media, Publicis Groupe, WPP) and technology partners.
- Ads are shown only to users on the Free and Go plans.
- Marketplace operator Shopee was named as a launch participant.
- Gaps to be aware of: app attribution partners cover only seven countries in total, independent performance benchmarks exist for the US and UK only, and billing currencies for the new markets were not disclosed.
