Chrome's Tracking Protection rolled out to 1% of users globally, restricting third-party cookies by default as the first step toward a planned full phase-out in the second half of 2024. Advertisers relying on cookie-based remarketing and measurement were urged to adopt Privacy Sandbox and first-party alternatives.
The timeline was later delayed (April 24, 2024) and then abandoned (July 22, 2024); see those entries.
