W9 forms stopped being accepted for US advertiser identity verification

From January 24, 2022 Google no longer accepted W9 forms for US advertiser identity verification (including election ads verification). Advertisers must instead submit documents such as an IRS notice, incorporation certificate, SEC filing, recent bank statement or business credit report showing the EIN.
Announced December 2, 2021. Verifications started before the effective date were grandfathered.
