Google Ads API moved to two releases a month from v26, with four majors a year unchanged

Google published its Google Ads API release and sunset schedules for 2026 and 2027 and doubled the release cadence from monthly to twice a month, starting with v26. There are still four major versions a year; every release in between is a minor version that adds only non-breaking features and sunsets with its parent major. Migration deadlines do not change.

Google's stated reason is to get new features to automated agents and workflows sooner. Release blog posts and YouTube live events drop to twice a quarter, so the release notes page becomes the place to track individual releases.

The tentative 2027 schedule puts majors at v27 in January, v28 in April, v29 in July and v30 in October, with 17 minor releases around them, and projected sunsets of v23 in February, v24 in May, v25 in August and v26 in November 2027. Google said the December releases (v26.3 and v30.3) may be skipped because they fall over the holidays, and that it may add or remove releases or move one between major and minor.
