Google Ads will allow ads for a narrow set of firearm accessories to run on Search in the United States from October 2026, as a limited pilot lasting six months. The pilot covers bipods, sights, slings, mounts and braces; firearms, ammunition and regulated or permit-requiring parts stay prohibited.
- Permitted in the pilot: bipods, sights, slings, mounts and braces.
- Search only, United States only. The accessories remain prohibited on Google's other ad surfaces and in every other country.
- Still prohibited everywhere: firearms, ammunition, regulated firearm parts, and accessories that require a permit or licence or are regulated under state or federal law.
- Accessories intended to increase firearm safety were already allowed and continue to be.
- Six-month duration, so the pilot runs into roughly March 2027 unless Google extends or ends it.
- Sits under the Dangerous products or services policy and its Guns, gun parts and related products section.
