A logging error prevented Search Console from accurately reporting impressions from May 13, 2025 until April 27, 2026; only impressions, CTR and average position were affected, not clicks. Google marked the issue resolved on May 4, 2026 and historical data was not restated.
Disclosed on the Data anomalies page on April 3, 2026 with a warning that reported impressions would decrease as the fix rolled out. Merchant listing and Google Images desktop impression spikes in March 2026 were among the symptoms noted by practitioners.
