Google announced automatic creation of GA4 properties for Universal Analytics properties from March 2023

Google notified UA users that, starting in March 2023, it would automatically configure a GA4 property based on UA settings (goals, audiences, Google Ads links, site tags) unless the property already had a completed GA4 setup or the Editor opted out in Setup Assistant.
Migrated UA events used Event Action as the GA4 event name with Category and Label as parameters, which practitioners warned could create many messy event names.
