Default Quality Score for new and low-traffic keywords changed from 7 to 6
- Date
- Jul 29, 2015 (first reported)
- Primary source
- Search Engine Land
Keywords without enough impressions to earn their own score now show a placeholder of 6 in reports, down from 7, until they gather data. Google described it as a reporting-only change with no effect on the auction; scripts and automated rules keyed on Quality Score values were worth rechecking.
The Screaming Frog timeline dates this to 27 July 2015; the Search Engine Land report used as the source is dated 29 July 2015.
